All local councils are required to have a Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) which aims to help remove barriers and enable people with disability to participate equally in their communities.

The 2017 – 2021 Kempsey Shire Council’s Disability Inclusion Action Plan aims to provide better access to Council information, services and facilities.

Council are now looking to further develop the draft DIAP through discussion on the document, participation in a survey and focus interviews with people who have disabilities and with providers of aged care and disability services.

This stage of engagement will close on Monday 26 June. The revised DIAP will then be presented to Council for adoption.
