Where are the new plans?
The Draft Masterplan which is on exhibition until 6 September 2019 can be located HERE
Is the new Masterplan funded for construction?
Funding has already been secured for the new playground (with help from community) and the shelter. Council has also received funding for the Monument Point walkway. The new Masterplan for the reserve will require funding to be secured through grants and Council's operational budget.
Why is Council still talking to us about the Masterplan and not just getting on with the work?
In 2014 Council adopted the currentMasterplan 2014 and since that time there has been ongoing community feedback into this plan.
In May 2018, Council held a Community Catch-Up in South West Rocks. At the Catch-Up we heard from the community that the natural beauty, the beaches and associated lifestyle and community spirit are highly valued and that delivery of the Master Plan was very important.
Following the Catch-Up, we made the adopted Master Plan available for public comment. After receiving community feedback, Council decided to further review the Master Plan to ensure it meets the contemporary needs of the community.
We have implemented items from the existing Masterplan including the playground, shelter and funding for the Monument Point Walkway (to be built in 2019)
A new Draft Masterplan is currently on exhibition with feedback closing 6 September. The plan can be accessed HERE
Is the caravan park included in the Horseshoe Bay Reserve Masterplan
No. The caravan park was included in the 2014 Masterplan. The proposed new Masterplan will only be dealing with the public reserve spaces. the Holiday Park/Caravan Park will be reviewed along with the other 4 holidays parks in the Shire. Community will be invited to have their say once that review commences.
