Disability Inclusion Action Plan Review
At Council we are all about fostering a more inclusive and accessible community. Our focus is on working for and with our entire community and removing or reducing barriers for people with disability so they can easily access services and facilities.
This includes reviewing our Disability Inclusion Action Plan to ensure it is up to date and a good representation of what our community needs. Everyone has a right to feel included in our community and have access to information.
What is the Disability Inclusion Action Plan?
Kempsey Shire Council’s Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) outlines the actions we will take to improve the lives of people with disability, as well as their carers and families. This plan sets out the steps Council will take to ensure equitable access to our information, services, events, and facilities for all members of our community.
What will the plan do?
The Disability Inclusion Action Plan will identify what Council is doing to meet the needs of people with disability and ensure they can access the same services, facilities and opportunities as everyone else. It will outline the work we are committing to in the next four years and show the community what action they can expect from us.
The plan will be developed to meet NSW Government guidelines and focus on four key areas:

We want to hear from you!
We're inviting our community to share their lived experiences with disability to help shape a meaningful and effective Disability Inclusion Action Plan.

have a disability
are a family member, friend or carer (paid or unpaid) of a person with a disability
work for an organisation that provides services to people with disabilities
or are an advocate
we’d love to hear your ideas, insights, and feedback.
