Consultation has concluded

The results of Council’s 2017 Grant Funding Community Survey and our annual Community Satisfaction Survey, identified public toilets, upgrades to sports facilities and upgrades to playgrounds as high priorities for our community.

This research supported Council’s application to the Stronger Country Communities Fund which resulted in $175,000 from the NSW Government towards an upgrade of the playground, footpaths and amenities block in Gladstone Memorial Park.

The Gladstone Markets Committee has supported the project and has donated $12,000. Council will also contribute a further $225,000 towards the upgrade.

To help deliver the project within the Funding Agreement timeframe, Council has prepared a long term concept plan for the Park, showing the proposed improvements and sourced options for playground equipment that is within the project budget.

The revitalised Gladstone Memorial Park will include a new amenities block, located slightly closer to the road. This will improve access and mean the existing facilities can remain in operation during construction. Using modern, safe design principles that allow for maximum flexibility of use, the amenities will have three unisex cubicles, connected by an open breezeway and handbasin stand. One cubicle will be fully accessible with a baby change station.
