What have we heard?

Community consultation (2020) revealed that the local community is very concerned about the state of the headland, with mitigating measures urgently required. The measures need to address existing erosion and degradation, change user behaviour, and safeguard the visual and historic qualities of the headland that everyone loves.

What is happening now?

The concept design for the headland addresses these major threats by clearly defining a circular walking path following an existing trail around the perimeter of the headland and regenerating and protecting the central headland zone. As well as upgrading the perimeter track, the concept plans provide for new viewing platforms to be constructed at the eastern point of the headland.

The concept design for the Foreshore Linear Park involves the upgrading of existing infrastructure including a new path, new and additional seating and surf viewing areas, and management of foreshore erosion.
