BACKGROUND

Earlier in 2018, Council received $357,960 from the NSW Government Stronger Country Communities Fundto continue delivery of the Master Plan with the construction of a new walkway around Monument Point. This walkway will connect the beach, headland car park, kiosk, surf club and playground

We are working to also include mobility access to the beach improvements, identified in the Master Plan as part of the walkway project, however, local design constraints may mean we need to provide these improvements at a later stage so as not to hold up the walkway commencement and to ensure a quality outcome

Council has engaged landscape architecture firm Plummer and Smith and after receiving community feedback online and at a community workshop, final detailed design plans for this walkway were completed in January 2019. It is anticipated Council will be starting construction of the pathway in March 2019. Construction will take place in stages and will go through to July. Note that construction will not occur during school holidays or public holidays. There will be some impacts during the construction period. Please refer to the FAQ information sheet HERE for details
