A plan for Our Creative Macleay
Consultation has concluded.
Across the Kempsey Shire we enjoy a wide range of creative and cultural experiences from events, galleries, performances and creative venues. Council works with local community and creatives to deliver events and activities, advocate for funding and support the work of our creative industries.
Council is updating a range of policies and procedures that have guided our work in the area of arts and culture, developing a plan to continue to foster a vibrant and innovative community through arts and culture.
Arts and Culture Plan on Exhibition
Our Creative Macleay is a practical, action focused plan covering the role Council plays as a facilitator, funder and advocate for arts and culture. To see true increases in skills and local experiences the plan also needs to focus on what our creative community can deliver.
The Draft Arts and Culture Plan is now on display - download a copy from this site, or you can find a hard copy at our library or from council's customer service.

What happens next?
After the research and review stage where we assessed existing documents and sought feedback on how people experience arts and culture locally, the draft Arts and Culture Plan, Our Creative Macleay is now on exhibition and we are seeking feedback from residents and the creative community. Your feedback will be reviewed and the final Plan will be presented to Council for adoption.
