A north east perspective of the Verge 1 Master Plan

An exciting transformation for Verge 1 Sporting Field into an elite regional sports complex is in the works.

The aim of this is to enhance local sports and community events, creating unforgettable experiences for all.

Some of the proposed improvements include:

  • expanding grandstand facilities, including seating for 1,000 spectators and six change rooms for both male and female athletes
  • upgrading the junior clubhouse and its facilities
  • increasing car parking and boundary fencing
  • adding a strength and conditioning room, and a media room
  • establishing more grassed hills and levelled seating provide the perfect viewing spots.

While the main use of Verge 1 Sporting Field will remain for rugby league, the fields will have the ability to host soccer, rugby union and community events on occasion.

Take a look at the plans for more details.

How was this plan developed?

Kempsey Shire Council has worked with direct stakeholders and Stone Three to develop a Verge 1 Sporting Field Master Plan.

This plan takes into account the valuable input of regional governing bodies, local sports clubs encompassing rugby league, rugby union, soccer, as well as schools.

To fund the development of this plan, Council utilised previous funding secured from NSW Government.

The works outlined in the plan are unfunded at this stage and Council is actively seeking opportunities to fund these.
