What are Alcohol Free Zones?

    Alcohol Free Zones are streets, footpaths or car parks where it is illegal to consume alcohol 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

    What happens if you are found drinking alcohol in these areas?

    You will be given a warning and the chance to stop drinking. If you continue to drink in an AFZ or APA you can be given a fine and have the alcohol confiscated.

    Who enforces these rules?

    NSW Police Officers enforce these areas.

    Alcohol Prohibited Areas are generally parks, sporting fields and children's playgrounds. It is illegal to consume alcohol 24 hours a day, 7 days a week whilst being in these areas.
