Alcohol Free Zones are streets, footpaths or car parks where it is illegal to consume alcohol 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Kempsey AFZ maps are available 

Alcohol Prohibited Areas are generally parks, sporting fields and children's playgrounds. It is illegal to consume alcohol 24 hours a day, 7 days a week whilst being in these areas.

Council has a number of Alcohol Prohibited Areas established in:

• Kempsey
• West Kempsey
• South Kempsey
• Crescent Head
• Frederickton/Smithtown/Gladstone
• South West Rocks
• Willawarrin

You will be given a warning and the chance to stop drinking. If you continue to drink in an AFZ or APA you can be given a fine and have the alcohol confiscated.

NSW Police Officers enforce these areas.

Council has numerous day visitor parks where alcohol can be consumed:

Please note: Consumption of alcohol is only permitted in these areas between the hours of 11am and 7pm.
