Read the Draft Report Back Creek Boating Access Improvements developed with RMS.

As part of the Regional Boating Plan the Roads and Maritime Service (RMS) has conducted an investigation into improving boating access in the Back Creek precinct of South West Rocks.

The draft report looks at three key areas;

  • access into Back Creek from the ocean,
  • the day visitor area located between Humpty Back Bridge and the creek entrance
  • and the boat ramp area located off Gordon Young Drive

The report recommends considerable improvements to both the existing boat launching area and the day visitor area, such as floating pontoons, public amenities and dedicated parking bays.

We thank the community for their feedback and sharing their ideas.
