Have your say to help shape our future community and Council priorities.

A new term of Council is an important time in our strategic planning process. At this time, the new Council reviews and updates our Community Strategic Plan and starts setting the priorities for their four-year term.

To help inform this work, we’re seeking feedback from our community around your satisfaction with Council services and future priorities.

There are multiple ways in which you can have ‘your say’ during October

Firstly, we have commissioned Micromex Research to conduct a random telephone survey among residents of the Kempsey Local Government Area (LGA).

Micromex is a well-respected research company that has been working with local councils since 2012.

The Micromex survey will run from 8 October to 17 October 2024.

In addition, Council will conduct its own online survey, the Shaping Our Future and Council Priorities Survey. You can complete this survey below until Sunday 3 November 2024.

Finally, we have a range of opportunities for you to come and talk to us in person in locations across the valley. We’re finalising the details of these sessions, and they will be posted here very soon.

Why?

The feedback gathered from this research and engagement will play a crucial role in shaping the Council's strategic and operational plans as we begin a new term. Community engagement is a top priority, and we encourage everyone to participate.

The aim of the research is to gather insights on the community's priorities regarding service areas that the council should consider in its operational planning.

It will also help council understand and allow you to:

  • Share your views on the community strategic plan
  • Let us know what you feel are the priority areas council should be focusing on / investing in for the future of the LGA
  • Share how we can engage better with you into the future

How will Micromex Research contact me?

If you are chosen from the sample list of Kempsey Shire residents you will receive a SMS to inform you that you have been selected to participate in the Micromex survey regarding the community future and Kempsey Shire Council.

This SMS will let you know what phone number the Micromex researchers will call you from, so that when you receive the phone call asking you about Council, you can feel assured it’s a genuine survey.

How can I take part in the Shaping Our Future and Council Priorities Survey?

If you do not receive a call from Micromex, you will still have a chance to have your say here in the survey below. The online survey council is providing is a shorter version of the longer Micromex phone survey.

This option gives members of the community who are not contacted by phone an opportunity to have their say and get involved with shaping our future and Council priorities.
