Aim of the First Nations Advisory Group
The aim of the First Nations Advisory Group is to provide non-binding advice to inform decision making on the strategies, plans, policies and projects of Kempsey Shire Council in relation to matters relating to First Nations communities in the Kempsey Shire.
This may include advice relating to:
The visibility, equality and inclusion of First Nations people within Council and the community;
The promotion and facilitation of reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders peoples and Council;
Matters which are of concern to local First Nations people.
Council advocacy to other levels of government/stakeholders to support positive outcomes for first nations people.
Opportunities for advocacy, projects and partnerships that reflect the needs of First Nations communities

How can I submit an Expression of Interest or nominate someone to be on the First Nations Advisory Group?
Before submitting an Expression of Interest or nominating someone, please review the attached Terms of Reference to ensure they meet the member eligibility criteria.
If you or your nominee is eligible, please submit your Expression of Interest or nomination by completing the form below.
