Kempsey library branch is getting a face-lift to help us offer new services and spaces as it is one of the most loved and used facilities in Kempsey CBD.
WHAT ARE WE DOING?
Kempsey Shire Council has received Public Library Infrastructure Grant funding (NSW Government) to undertake a series of works within the Kempsey Branch including:
Upgrading the youth space, providing improved study and technology options
Redesigning and invigorating the children's area
Improving the meeting room to make it a more flexible and usable community meeting and events space
Overhauling the disused courtyard area into an inviting outdoor reading and activity space
Updating the internal layout and design
WHAT HAVE WE DONE SO FAR?
Roger Henshaw Consultancy have developed the designs for the library upgrade. The works are expected to be completed by early 2022.
The Library reopened from 20th September 2021 operating out of the back half of the facility, while renovations commenced from the Elbow Street side. Keep up to date with the project on the Council's Major Project Page.
