Will this Strategy help make our Shire more sustainable and resilient?
In our first round of engagement 53% of respondents said our current way of living in the Macleay Valley was NOT environmentally sustainable. Do you think these actions will make our region more sustainable and resilient?
What have we heard from community?
In 2021 we heard from over 60 community members about the barriers and opportunities to living sustainably in the Macleay Valley. The following were identified as the most important for community:
- Education and information
- Preparing for climate change
- Liveability and resilience of urban areas
- Communication and collaboration
Council has developed the Sustainability and Resilience Strategy based on this community feedback.
