Operational Plan 2023-24 on exhibition

Kempsey Shire Council has developed an Operational Plan to guide Council's actions over the next financial year.

The 2023-24 Kempsey Shire Council Budget includes:

  • $46.89 million for roads and bridges
  • $26.93 million for water services
  • $19.29 million for sewer services
  • $13.09 million for waste services

There are 158 individual actions identified in the Operational Plan to be carried out in the coming 12 months.

To support the delivery of the Operational Plan actions, Council also reviews its Revenue Policy, Rates Maps, Fees and Charges and Long-Term Financial Plan each year. The draft documents are also available for the community to read and provide feedback.

This plan aligns with the Community Strategic Plan 2042: Your Future and the 2022-2026 Delivery Program that were adopted in June 2022 Council Meeting .

Council has placed the draft Integrated Planning and Reporting suite on public exhibition for 28 days. You can view it through the links on the right, with physical copies available in our libraries and customer service.

The community is encouraged to provide feedback to let us know whether we’ve got the plans right or if there is anything missing.

Submissions can be made by the following methods:

  1. Fill out our short survey on the draft Operational Plan below.
  2. Make a more comprehensive, formal submission on any or all of the draft Integrated Planning and Reporting suite, using the online submission tool; by email to ksc@kempsey.nsw.gov.au or mailed to:

What happens next?

Following the exhibition period, Council will review the submissions and update the Operational Plan 2023-24.

The Plan will then be presented at the ordinary meeting of Council in June 2023 for adoption.

Council's performance in delivering the Plan will then be published in Council's quarterly and annual reporting and the End of Term Report.
