Residents of all ages joined the West Kempsey Pump Track Committee to officially launch the popular Pump Track on the 4th December 2021.

Some riders propelled themselves through the air while others pedal their way around, experiencing the thrill of the track their way. Professional riders Zoe Cuthbert and Ryan Gilchrist arrived to show the crowd their world class style and praised the fantastic track we have.

A bike mechanic set up a stall for the afternoon completing repairs on 13 bikes, giving away 7 bikes and providing information on how bike riders can share the roads safely. Attendees were provided with a free BBQ lunch and entertainment by DJ Mark Purcell.

Hi and thanks for your questions. All suggestions are being taken into consideration and where possible will inform the final designs for the Pump Track. As we have limited funds for this project, there are no plans to use the grant funding to provide bike paths to the track from other areas of Town, however this information can be fed into our Pedestrian Access Mobility Plan for the Shire.

    Have a great day!

  • Share I think this would be amazing for the town but after caring for children for 25 years and knowing kids are the prime target for such a track, all i can think about is how they will need toilets and garbage bins. This is an isolated area and you can 100% guarantee if there are no bins then this will be covered in trash within weeks. Sports require fuel and kids will be eating and drinking so before building new things i the town, the people with final decisions need to consider ALL of the needs of the people who will utilize the space. Toilets and bins are a MUST, so are there plans in place to install these? if so, how many ? and how soon? Thanks. on Facebook Share I think this would be amazing for the town but after caring for children for 25 years and knowing kids are the prime target for such a track, all i can think about is how they will need toilets and garbage bins. • Share Will the proposed development allow the use of motor bikes/trailbikes etc? If so, this would be a very real concern as it is used for such purposes now, much to the extreme annoyance caused by uncaring, inconsiderate people. The noise caused from such use can be, and is very distressing to people in the near vicinity. on Facebook Share Will the proposed development allow the use of motor bikes/trailbikes etc? Hi and thankyou for your question. Motorbikes will not be encouraged on the site. The bike track has been designed (curves and angles) and construction materials (asphalt) to discourage the use of motorbikes

We hope that addresses your concerns :)

    Have a great day!
