Residents of all ages joined the West Kempsey Pump Track Committee to officially launch the popular Pump Track on the 4th December 2021.

Some riders propelled themselves through the air while others pedal their way around, experiencing the thrill of the track their way. Professional riders Zoe Cuthbert and Ryan Gilchrist arrived to show the crowd their world class style and praised the fantastic track we have.

A bike mechanic set up a stall for the afternoon completing repairs on 13 bikes, giving away 7 bikes and providing information on how bike riders can share the roads safely. Attendees were provided with a free BBQ lunch and entertainment by DJ Mark Purcell.

Steven Neale, Silver sponsor Community Housing Kempsey, said, “We are proud to sponsor the West Kempsey Pump Bike Track because this facility will provide a space for fun, healthy and safe activities for young people, families and everyone in the community".

With the new West Kempsey BMX Pump Track due to start construction soon, the West Kempsey Pump Track Committee would like to deliver a big thank you to the generous sponsors that are helping make this project happen.

A project of this scale requires a huge amount of planning, support and funds. In addition to Council funding and Government grants, $15K has recently been donated providing vital funds to get this project off the ground.

Echo Voice and Data, and Community Housing, were the first to offer their sponsorship and make an investment in this valuable community resource.

Tara Howard, Gold sponsor Echo Voice and Data, said, “As a locally owned business with a team comprised of local staff, it’s very important to me that we give back to our community and support growth in the Macleay wherever we can.

“We had been looking for a long-term project to support and were excited to find that the BMX Pump Bike Track will deliver this amazing facility for Kempsey Shire.”

The West Kempsey BMX Pump Bike Track presents a unique opportunity to get involved with a project that will provide a vital community asset for years to come.

The project is still looking for financial support from businesses, corporate partners, Government agencies, individuals and organisations.

To learn more about the project and the sponsorship packages available visit Your Say Macleay or call Aisha Spokes on 6566 3200 or email aisha.spokes@kempsey.nsw.gov.au.
