Consultation has concluded.

Please visit Kempsey Shire Council website for more information.

South West Rocks needs a new library and community hub and we want to hear from you.

WHAT ARE WE DOING?

Our first step is to develop a plan for what the hub would look like and what services it could provide. This information will be used to make sure we are in the best position to apply for grants and other funding opportunities

So we want to find out what our community would value in a combined library and community hub space in South West Rocks. Do you want meeting rooms, bookable spaces, storage, outdoor areas or a café? How do you imagine access to services, technology, accessibility, cultural installations and the look and feel?

WHY ARE WE DOING IT?

Community feedback has told us that a combined community and library space is important to people living in South West Rocks. Council’s 'Your Future Places and Spaces' strategy, adopted in the first half of 2020, identifies a library-based multipurpose community hub at South West Rocks as a key goal.

At this stage we are all about planning, understanding your ideas for how to use the space. The Public Libraries NSW guidelines tell us that for the population of SWR we need a space about six times bigger than our current Library!

Your Feedback will be used to inform future designs and help us prepare for funding opportunities

HOW CAN YOU HAVE YOUR SAY?

We want you to imagine a space where you can connect, work, learn, meet and borrow! We are seeking your input into what a South West Rocks Library and Community Centre might become.

For now, you can complete the South West Rocks Library survey

The survey is open until March 2021

Look at the examples in the links (to the right of this page) and provide your Ideas and tell us What you love about the library

Engagement will run through to March 2021, and further opportunities to be involved will be promoted.

If you are part of a community group, Government agency or business network who would like to have a face to face conversation with the project team please complete the register your interest form and we will be in touch early in 2021
