KEMPSEY

Kempsey is the major service hub of the Macleay Valley. Kempsey is a blend of old-world charm and thriving regional riverside town, and is well-known as the home of the Akubra hat.

West Kempsey Pump Track: A BMX Pump Track is being built to promote a healthy and active lifestyle for the younger population of the town. Read more here.

Kempsey Regional Saleyards: The future of the management and operations of the sale yards can be read here.

Community Catch-Ups: Held on the 6th May with almost 30 community members in attendance. The key themes from this workshop included:

  • Indigenous representation at leadership levels;
  • inclusivity of the Indigenous population;
  • green spaces in developments;
  • IT and renewable energy industry development;
  • Council to assist with streamlining processes and payments and provide more support to the residents.

The residents appreciated the ‘inclusive opportunity to meet and discuss the future of the community with Councillors and Community Members through an open forum’.
