MacleayLink is a community information hub created by Kempsey Shire Council to inform and connect community groups, service providers and individuals of the Macleay Valley with resources, opportunities and information that may be valuable to you, your clients or your stakeholders.

Examples of what can be shared include: grants and funding opportunities, training and workshops, community service provider network meetings, sponsorship opportunities, competitions, State and Federal community education information and awareness campaigns, awards nominations and expressions of interest.

    My Supports is a community based organisation providing support to people with a disability who are registered with the NDIS. Providing a unique, person-centred approach, My Supports assists people at home to remain actively engaged in their local community.

    My Supports is currently servicing the area from Taree up to Coffs Harbour with Neighbourhood Coordinators located in the Port Macquarie area.

  • National Agriculture Day

    This year AgDay is being celebrated under the theme #GrowForGood. It's all about how agriculture is making the world a little better each year - by feeding and clothing more people, caring for our environment, and strengthening our rural communities.

    AgDay is on 21 November and the National Farmers' Federation are inviting organisations and individuals to get involved in spreading the #GrowForGood message throughout rural communities.

    Go to www.agday.org.au to find out about the many ways you and your organisation can be involved in 2018.

    The North Coast Primary Health Network's My Health Record team are hosting an after hours event at the Town Green Inn to provide essential information about the online health summary before the end of the opt out period on Thursday 15 November 2018.

    Come along to learn about how it works, what you can do with it and how to make it work best for you. Light refreshments are supplied.

    Kempsey Community Suicide Prevention is proudly supported by the Department of Health as one of four trial sites under the North Coast Primary Health Network (NCPHN) and BlackDog Institute Lifespan Trial.

    We are currently situated at Macleay Valley Workplace Learning Centre in South Kempsey, and are implementing a community based approach to Prevention, Early Intervention and Sustainable Wellbeing of our Kempsey Community.

    If you are 15 to 21 years old and are not sure where you are heading, or need help getting some skills and finding a job, TtW is for you! The program is tailored to your individual needs and features a range of workshops for you to choose from.

    Scouts Australia NSW provides young Aussies with fun and challenging opportunities to grow through adventure.

    With over 17,000 youth and adult members from various cultural and religious backgrounds and with varying abilities, Scouts is one of the largest and most successful youth organisations in the state.

    1st Kempsey Scout Group invites young people from all over the Macleay Valley to join the organisation. There are three divisions determined by age - 'Joeys' for 5 to 8 year olds, 'Cubs' for 9 to 11 year olds and 'Scouts' for 12 to 14 year olds.

    An NDIS information afternoon will be held at Kempsey South Public School at 21 Queen Street, Kempsey from 2pm - 5pm on Tuesday 13 November to connect parents and carers of children with a disability to local NDIS providers.

    This event is open to the entire community and presents a unique opportunity for families to access information about NDIS. Currently there are 28 providers attending who can work with and support families in accessing support.

    There will be a crèche in operation on the day as well as light refreshments.

    The Office of Sport will be conducting a Child Safe Workshop in Port Macquarie, from 6:30pm to 9:30pm on Tuesday 27 November at SLSNSW Northern Operations Centre.

    Developed using materials from the Office of the Children's Guardian, the Child Safe Sport Workshop is designed for club committees, administrators and volunteers.

    It will provide recommendations for sport as a result of findings from the Royal Commission Into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, looking specifically at:

    • Practical ways clubs can be more child safe
    • Child safety policy, procedures and recruitment
    • Creating a child safe cultureWhy listening to and...
